With the loss of a congressional district as a result of the most recent census, Michiganders have been left guessing what the new districts will look like. Most likely, districts will become more competitive for the upcoming midterm elections, but it all depends on how well the redistricting commission follows rules and guidelines. "Kalamazoo and Battle Creek have common interests and belong in the same congressional district,” Joe Schwarz, former U.S. representative and Ford School lecturer, said about his home area.
