CLOSUP Working Papers Series Guidelines
The CLOSUP Working Paper Series is targeted toward academic audiences and informed policymakers and includes research papers that are complete and ready for public presentation. Any topic relevant to local, state, and/or urban policy issues is eligible for inclusion. CLOSUP reserves the right to select submitted papers for inclusion based on the Center's various goals.
Most papers included in the series have been requested by CLOSUP staff. However, the Center accepts suggestions for new papers and will review submissions to determine fit with the Center's goals.
CLOSUP staff will function as editors of the working paper series, including reviewing submissions before approving for inclusion. The editors will also ensure that papers are ready for public presentation.
Papers included in the CLOSUP Working Paper Series are not limited from inclusion in other working paper series. Inclusion of a paper in the CLOSUP series does not constitute publication and should not limit publication in any other venue. Alternatively, if a paper is electronically available elsewhere, its abstract will be included on the CLOSUP website and a link to the external website will be provided when possible.
CLOSUP may occasionally develop and distribute policy-focused research briefs from a single working paper or as a compilation of several papers. Full attribution will be included and authors will be asked to review drafts for accuracy before publication.
CLOSUP will attach a cover page to each working paper which shall include the following statement: "Any opinions, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the view of the Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy or any sponsoring agency."
