Kim Hill

Kim Hill, a 1997 graduate of the Ford School of Public Policy, is Director of the Automotive Communities Program and Associate Director of the Economics nd Business Group within the Center for Automotive Research (CAR). The Automotive Communities Program helps government and economic developers in traditional automotive communities across the upper Midwest and Canada understand the ever-changing dynamic of the automotive industry as these organizations work on attraction and retention efforts. The Economics and Business Group performs economic and business modeling of many areas of the world motor vehicle industry for the purpose of forecasting and policy analysis.

Mr. Hill is CAR's lead investigator on economic impact analyses. These analyses estimate employment and economic impacts on the national and state economies that result from automotive company activities. Mr. Hill's work with CAR has focused on economic and business modeling in public policy analysis. He has authored and co-authored numerous studies examining the total annual economic activity of the domestic automotive industry; the economic well-being of the top suppliers in the State of Michigan; an analysis of the effects state regulations have on automotive capital investment, and other topics.

Before joining CAR Mr. Hill analyzed public policy issues for the City of Ann Arbor, co-authored numerous studies on the global automotive industry at the University of Michigan's Office for the Study of Automotive Transportation, and served as a business consultant for CFI Group in Ann Arbor.
